ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI PRESENTS
WILL SWEENEY (UK)
London based Sweeney makes drawings, T-shirt designs, posters, illustrations,
toys and large scale installations. His world is a futuristic collision of
mutated figures, patterns, products and [typo]graphic buildings.
Regular commissions for progressive UK label Silas & Maria and collaborations
with Japanese artist Susumu Mukai led to the formation of his T-shirt label,
Alakazam in 2005.
This exhibition of recent Architecture in Helsinki art; original cover illustrations;
sketches, packaging and prints, explores the surreal collaboration between
Sweeney and one of Australia’s most innovative groups.
