THE NARROWS
POSTERS FOR EXHIBTIONS AT THE
MUSEUM FUR GESTALTUNG, ZURICH
FEBRUARY 8 – MARCH 1, 2008
Curated by

The Museum für Gestaltung Zürich has special standards and objectives
and follows an innovative approach in the design of its exhibition posters and
advertising materials. For each project talented designers are commissioned
to devise the visual communication concept. The posters not only illustrate
the exhibition themes but also represent a panorama of communicative
possibilities and design expressions. Advertising of this kind is a manifestation
of visual curiosity and pays tribute to the high aspirations and standards of
Swiss poster design, the resulting works of which have been recognised for
their excellence.
One of the reasons for the intensive discussion with the medium of posters
originates in the tradition of the collecting policy of the museum: beside the
collections of Design, Applied Art and Graphics, the Poster Collection occupies
a focus.
