On Saturday the 15th of September t Lori Damiano will present a floor talk on
her first solo exhibition; Hither & Yon.
The Californian based artist, illustrator, and animator extraordinaire has installed
amongst the walls a mostly rural landscape inhabited by her distinctive characterizations
and infused with abstraction and decorative patterns. Using a combination of
gouache, ink and acrylic on wood and paper to realize the scenes, she presents
her characters participating in every conceivable mode of travel, and the experiences
and exchanges that transpire on their journey. Part of the installation depicts
the interior of a modest dwelling, just the kind of place theses characters
may have rested, gratefully, along their way.
