BUSINESS AS USUAL

12 MAY – 5 JUNE

Business as Usual; a statement and a question, the gallery is both open and closed. The windows of the gallery are boarded up with chip board from the outside. Viewed from the street the words Business as Usual is painted across the barricaded window face, announced to everyone and no one.

Referencing temporary alterations to architecture and city streets before and after public events, demonstrations and riots; the work is reminiscent of a G20 style lockdown.

Running along side the galleries allocated program the work clings to the peripheral; highlighting and drawing attention to the activities in the space. During the galleries opening hours the door is held open with a stack of free posters.

Business as Usual is part of Objects in Space in conjunction with the 2008 Next Wave Festival
